I started with a standard neck and then set the barrel back enough to re-chamber using the tighter necked reamer. The barrel was a top-drawer brand, but, other than a bit of action truing and a two-ounce Shilen trigger, it was more of a medium-weight sporter, not a full-blown BR rifle. 221 Fireball using an XP-100 action I converted into a rifle.
I have all the equipment for properly and precisely turning case necks down, but I have a feeling it may not make much of a difference in this caliber and with this rifle. 218 Bee ammunition means I will likely never fire factory loads in this rifle, anyway.
1) I'm considering the option of having a tight-necked.
